On November 24, 2003, the President signed the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2004, containing a provision to grant restoration of Retired Pay to Military Retirees rated 50% or more disabled by the VA. Restoration will take place over a ten-year phase-in period beginning in January 2004. Use the MS Excel Spreadsheets below to compute the amounts restored. Compute restored Retired Pay at original rates (as of January 2004) Compute restored Retired Pay assuming 2.7% COLA increase each year after latest known COLA increase Now, we must get restoration for those retirees rated from 10% to 40% and eliminate the phase-in period. | |||
